Internship for Microbiology?

 Internship for Microbiology is it Possible? Or dream?

 

 

As a M.Sc. Microbiology student, you can peruse internship in two ways

1) Paid : You have to pay some money during the training session. It very easy to get because those institute have a roster for every year to get trainees. Its their business no prior contacts are needed.

2) or Non-paid: You not have to pay money during the training session. It’s not easy to get because those no prior contacts are needed.

Generally, Students are getting opportunity to have following sectors to do an internship

1)     Diagnostic Labs: In the Post COVID era there is a massive serge in moderately qualified students in the country in countless diagnostic centers. So low wage work force is needed

So, if you take to go there you get some amount of money and current experience of trendy techniques also this is an added advantage. And if some how you are able to impress them there is a chance of permanent job in there.

2)     Milk industries: Dairy industries only welcome Microbiology students  for training so there is no competition for you, may be paid it depends that by what contact you got the internship. Here you only get to know truly industry-oriented work (e.g., large scale work ). But no future job or employment is guaranteed because it requires engineering skills that you are not able to get by the M.Sc. Because all the Indian industries are like to take employees who do more job at low salary although you are doing QC job that require no B. tech knowledge but they are always like to force you to supervise or work in a production.

3)     Medical colleges and research institutes: In microbiology departments of various hospitals and Govt. medical colleges give the opportunity but of course you have to paid them some amount of money through out your training period i.e., 2, 3,or 6 months. But no future job or employment is guaranteed because they prefer DMLT students for work not M.Sc. Microbiology. Because Doctors and medical admins always like to give jobs DMLT students and basically, they deliberately avoid Microbiology students for jobs after Internship. So, anybody goes through this option only they are going to peruse research as carrier only.

4)     Food industries: This is the age of Online food delivery so fast-food joints are booming now a days so the Bakeries and cake industries hire Microbiologist for R&D so they also require some technician. But you have to get strong recommendation and contacts to get the in the internship program.

5)     Mineral water and beverage industries: This is also the age of to drink safe water and more water or age of “Stay hydrated”. So, the Bottling industries hire Microbiologist for R&D so they also require some technician. But you have to get strong recommendation and contacts to get the in the internship program.
